What information we collect and why

We only collect what we need to help you, run our charity shop, and stay legal.

For orders & delivery
  • Name and contact details
  • Delivery address
  • Purchase history
For marketing (only if you agree)
  • Your email or phone number
  • Marketing preferences
  • What you've bought or shown interest in
For legal & safeguarding reasons
  • Information needed by law (e.g. Gift Aid)
  • Records if there’s a complaint or safeguarding concern
Website & improvements
  • How you use our website (cookies)
  • Anonymous stats to make the site better

Our lawful reasons for using your data

We only use your information when the law allows. Most commonly:

  • Contract — to fulfil your order
  • Legal obligation — tax, Gift Aid, safeguarding
  • Legitimate interests — running our charity shop efficiently
  • Consent — only for marketing emails/newsletters

Where we get your information from

  • Directly from you (orders, contact form, phone, email)
  • From trusted partners (e.g. fundraising platforms)
  • Public sources (e.g. Companies House, Charity Commission)

How long we keep your information

We keep order details for 7 years (legal requirement for tax).

Marketing preferences are kept until you tell us to stop.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time (unless we’re legally required to keep it).

Who we share your information with

Only when necessary and always securely:

  • Delivery companies (name + address only)
  • HMRC (for Gift Aid or tax)
  • Payment providers (secure, encrypted)
  • Safeguarding bodies (only if required by law)

We never sell your data. Ever.

You have the right to:

  • See what data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct it
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Object to marketing
  • Withdraw consent anytime
